TOORAK

Project Details

Project Overview

Scotland Marshall Plumbing was engaged to complete a major re-roof of this heritage home in Toorak after the existing low-pitched roof had reached the end of its life, resulting in significant water pooling and ongoing leaks throughout the property.
One of the biggest challenges was creating sufficient roof fall while maintaining the existing building heights and heritage appearance of the home. Increasing the roof height using the existing eaves gutter design would have altered the front profile of the property, so an alternative solution was required.
Working with the builder, our team developed a new internal box gutter system, allowing us to increase the roof falls while keeping the overall roof height and appearance from the street largely unchanged.
The result was a completely redesigned and renewed roofing and drainage system that resolved the existing water issues while respecting the heritage character of the property — a challenging re-roof that required plenty of planning and custom detailing to get right.
